It is often remarked that the consumer is the king. However, in facts, both public as well as private sector organisations treat the consumer erroneously. Furthermore, the middlemen defraud the consumer in diverse ways (like adulteration, under-weight of goods, selling goods of inferior quality and duplicated goods, charging higher prices, misleading advertisement in the media, etc.). Therefore, the consumer is not affirmative of receiving qualitatively manufactured goods, preserved in hygienic conditions, and at competitive prices. Consequently, the mandate for consumer protection emerges due to the exploitation of consumer and the denial of consumer' rights without protective measures. This research paper focuses on the awareness of consumer rights amongst management students and buying patterns of them. Primary data was compiled from students of management institutions from Ahmednagar city of Maharashtra state, India. Survey method and the random sampling technique were employed to accumulate the data. The Major finding of this research is that the management students are aware about consumer rights. However, they never lodge the complaints against traffickers. Therefore, consumer and government organisations/agencies need to educate them about the procedure of registering complaints and seeking redressals.
