The study has been endeavoured to assess the employee benefit cost as an important component of cost in case of the five top selected software companies. Moreover, an attempt has also been made to assess the impact of employee benefit costs on profitability in terms of sales and net worth. The five top leading companies having a sizable turnover in the software industry have been selected up for study. The figures have been collected from the published annual reports of companies for the last five financial years. The employees benefit costs of these companies and their profitability have been studied based on ratio analysis technique employing the employees benefit costs as a percentage of revenue, net profit ratio, return on net worth and other relevant information.
